Mier, Mier on the Wall

Mier, Mier on the wall, who's the dumbest President of them all?

Are the Republicans rejecting Bush’s new Supreme Court candidate Harriet Miers to squash Democratic opposition before the upcoming hearings that she’s too conservative, or do they really not like her?

If the latter is true, then Republicans have once again showed what hypocrites they truely are. Aren’t these the same people who scolded Democrats for daring to reject and/or (God forbid) question Bush’s other Supreme Court nominee John Roberts?

Oddly enough (or perhaps not), Republicans don’t seem to care Miers was never a judge, or how she lacks the qualifications to sit on the bench, but seem to only be concerned about her position on abortion. Yes, abortion. You know that thing you could choose not to do if you don’t like it.

What is wrong with a government that appoints people to high, powerful position based solely on their religious beliefs? The last time I checked, Supreme Court Judges were suppose to rule based on what the Constitution says and not the bible. So why do they need to know she “found Jesus”. Good for her, but how does that qualify her to be a judge on the highest court in the country?

If anything, it means she’ll be a horrible judge as her religious beliefs will often block her ability to preserve and protect the United States Constitution. So, I guess Republicans really only desire Supreme Court Judges who’ll ignore our Constitution and rule based on what an imaginary man in the sky would want.

Qualifications be damned! Appease our God!

Makes sense.
