Hot Coffee

By now, I’m sure you heard all about the brew-ha-ha surrounding the ultra-violent game Grand Theft Auto: san Andreas. In this weeks News Flash Taco-Man discusses the controversy and Hillary Clinton.

Looking for animators

I’m looking for flash animators who’d like to help me with future cartoons. You wouldn’t have to draw anything, just animate. As Ebolaworld expands and strives to make “Weekly Update” a reality, my workload can sometimes become overbearing. If you would like to help out, email me at help@ebolaworld.com. Please include a little info on yourself, and some examples of your work.

Thanks,
Sam T

Cat and Fish in Animation Magazine!

The results are in for the 2005 Animation Magazine Pitch Party. The judges gave my Cat vs. Fish ad 3rd place out of 35 entries. Not too shabby! This was my first animation contest and it was solely based on the ad and not the actual cartoon.

Here is the write up from the August, 2005 Animation Magazine: "You’ve got to praise Sam for taking on such a classic toon premise- cats and fish (sic) have been tormenting each other since the early days of animation- and giving us something fresh and fantastic looking. Our judges felt that the pitch was strong enough to carry a show and they also loved the positioning of the central characters in the ad space. Sam promises us “hilarious, diabolical rivalry with a twist.” One look at the bright colors and the strong character lines, and we just know Sam won’t let us down in the future!"

Here are the judges that picked my cartoon as their favorite:

Ellen Goldmith-
VienFounder/CEO,
The Gotham Group

Helen McAleer-
Deputy Managin Director
Children’s BBC

Irene Weibel-
VP of Educational Development
Nelvana

I notice only one judge picked the 2nd place winner as their favorite. So exactly how did it place 2nd?!? Oh well… there is always next year.

The Cat vs. Fish ad also won 2nd place in the Animation Magazine Staff Pick and 1st place in the Online Viewer Pick! What an honor! After all, what the audience likes is all that matters in the end.

PS- If you wondering why it’s called Cat VS Fish, it’s because I thought it would be more understanding since it was just an ad. I kind of like the new name. What do you think?

Coming Soon in 2005!

Here is a tentative list of episodes coming later this year:

NEW: The Halloween Special 3: Night Trap missed its October 31st deadline due to a serious string of freaking bad luck, but will be released within the next few weeks without the Halloween title.

You'll have full control of the camera, traps, and outcome! Release date: 11/14/05

Anniversary Special 3: Taco-Man looks back at 2005 and reads viewer mail. Release date: To be Announced

Snowy the Frostman 2 – Snowy returns to kill the little girl that created him, or give her a big hug, which ever comes first. Release date: To be Announced

The Blog is back!

I thought I would bring back the blog while the new forum/fan-site is still in the works. This way I can keep you up to date on all the happenings at Ebolaworld! Lot's of exciting things are going on this year.

You may have already noticed that Weekly Update is back and has two new sections: News Flash, and Ask Taco-Man. Go on and click it, you know you wanna.

News Flash will be the new home for Taco-Man and his "fair and balanced" reporting.

Ask Taco-Man will feature Taco-Man reading actual emails sent in by viewers like you. Even if he doesn't answer your email, you may still see him delete it in the opening segment or refer to it during the cartoon. We usually try to cram as many emails in as possible.

Also in the works is Ebolaworld's first video game! The game will be a spoof (rip-off) of Mario Kart and allow you to play as several different Ebolaworld characters. At first you will only be able to to compete for the top ten list, but later you’ll be able to race each other. As for now, you can only race AI characters.

Last but not least, as I previously mentioned, a fan-site is in the works and will be interactive with forums, polls, reviews, ect...

That's all for now!
